Lester Fizz, Bubble-Gum Artist

Ruth Spiro is the author of Lester Fizz, Bubble-Gum Artist and the founder of Bubble Gum Day. On Bubble Gum Day, students donate $0.50 to chew gum at school. All donations are sent to a charity of the school's choice. Ruth spent this year's Bubble Gum Day in my school library. With much energy and enthusiasm, she took students through the writing process, shared writing tips, read aloud Lester Fizz, and discussed Bubble Gum Day. During the book signing, she connected with her readers and posed for pictures. Thank you, Ruth Spiro, for spending Bubble Gum Day with us.

Everyone in the Fizz family is an artist. Everyone except Lester, whose paintings are pitiful and doodles are drab. Lester doesn’t think he’ll ever be an artist, until the day a mouthful of gum becomes a work of art on Lester’s talented lips. Drawing inspiration from all directions, Lester develops his special talent for artful bubbles and blows the competition away! (Publisher's description)
