Newbery Challenge:The Voyages of Doctor Dolittle by Hugh Lofting

Visit Colby Sharp's blog to hear his thoughts on The Voyages of Doctor Dolittle.

I think I look happier than I did in my The Story of Mankind photo. :)

The cover on the right was designed by Travis Jonker (aka Scope Notes). He is redesigning the covers of Newbery Medal-winning books.

Sing along with Rex Harrison. I did.

Hmm....it looks like the screenwriter took a lot of liberties with the original text.

Borrow Hugh Lofting's The Voyages of Doctor Dolittle from your school or public library. Whenever possible, please support independent bookshops.

  1. I love that some of your students have read this book with their parents. That is awesome.

  2. Great video, Mr. Schu! I have checked out Dark Frigate, but every time I start it, the newer books lure me in (Mighty Miss Malone). I, too, picked up a copy of The Fault in Our Stars because it seemed everyone was saying how great it was! Luckily, my library had 3 copies.
Thanks for showing us YOUR library. (And, by the way, I am 3/4 done with Story of Mankind.)
