Grosset & Dunlap’s Vintage series

I've interviewed students, authors, illustrators, librarians, imaginary friends, and teachers, but I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've interviewed an editor. Eve Adler, the Senior Editor at Grosset and Dunalp, dropped by to chat with me about G + D's Vintage series. I wrote the words in purple, and she wrote the words in black. Many thanks, Eve!

Grosset + Dunlap’s Vintage series is a blast from the past! Originally published in the 1940s, 50s, and 60s, these books feature timeless stories accompanied by classic illustrations that both adults and kids are sure to love.

Ruth Wood’s illustrations for the Bingity-Bangity School Bus are so full of life! It’s a story about an old clankety school bus that almost gets sent to the junkyard, but the school kids who love him come to his rescue.

Mr. Winky is an old man who loves his noisy clock shop—until he suddenly becomes bothered by all the tick-tocking, that is! After some adventuring, Mr. Winky realizes that a noisy clock shop is exactly what he needs.

Did you know Mr. Wishing Went Fishing and caught a starfish and a crab before finding the ideal fishbowl companion for his pet fish: another fish!

Picture books are one of the most enjoyable ways to bond with kids! Especially when reading G+D Vintage books, since the artwork has such a nostalgic feel, and kids will be able to relate to the stories just as well today as they could decades ago.

Reading is inspiring. Empowering. Enriching. A way to exercise your imagination and share precious moments with family and friends. The best!

Mr. Schu, you should have asked what other books we have coming out in our G+D Vintage series! (The answer: lots more!)
