Hi Mr. Schu! And hello to Mr. Schu’s readers! Thank you for allowing me and my troupe of wacky birds to share the Cockatoo, Too trailer here. I’m thrilled to have this opportunity to let people know about the book. And we, the cockatoos, have added some important thoughts of our own.
The book trailer is a collaboration between me, my brother (a composer), and some of the best voice talent in
my house. It also utilizes the latest in animation technology—popsicle stick
puppetry. Most importantly, the trailer stars cockatoos. In tutus.
Cockatoo, Too uses only twelve words to tell a tongue-twisting, wordplay-ful tale of cockatoos, toucans, tutus, and more. It’s a whole lot of fun with words and birds.
Kirkus, in a starred review, says, “It’s all delightfully hilarious. Sure to become a read-aloud favorite.” And Cockatoo, Too is an Indie Next Pick for Winter 2015-2016. Most importantly, the book stars cockatoos. In tutus.
As a child, I loved the way some books (think Dr. Seuss) made my adults become silly when they opened the cover and began to read. This is one of the many superpowers of picture books, and I hope that Cockatoo, Too taps into some of that power. Thanks for taking a look. Tutus! Tutus! Tutus, too!
Look for Cockatoo, Too on January 5, 2016.
Thank you, Bethanie, for sharing your WONDERFUL book trailer with us. I cannot wait to celebrate Cockatoo, Too next month. -Mr. Schu
