I loved playing school as a kid as well! I never took turns with my cousins as being the teacher in the classroom. It's the one memory of my childhood that I can remember explicitly :)
What a terrific post. I too used to come home after school and play imaginary stuff. Playing school was not one of them though. I played imaginary football in the living room with my imaginary team and a pee wee football. I would make rosters for imaginary teams by looking up names in phone book that would make great QB's RB's and linebackers. Then I would sit down afterwards and read books about great athletes.
