The 90-Second Newbery Video Contest
Children's author James Kennedy managed to tell A Wrinkle in Time in 90 seconds. He challenges you to create a video that compresses the story of a Newbery award-winning book into 90 seconds or less. Are you up for the challenge?
Here is your homework assignment:
1. Decide on a Newbery Medal winner.
2. Plan your video.
3. Dust off your camera and start filming.
4. Have fun!
James provided these important dates:
October 17: Deadline for entries.
November 5: James Kennedy and Jon Scieszka are hosting the "90-Second Newbery Film Festival" at the New York Public Library main branch.
November 16: James is hosting the same film festival at the Harold Washington Library in Chicago.

Still mad Hatchet lost to Lincoln's Photobiography. Hatchet would have made the sweetest 90-Second Newbery!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for posting about this, John!
ReplyDelete@Colby: But HATCHET *is* eligible! Newbery Honor books are fair game for the 90-Second Newbery contest too. Go to it!
