Two Books I Want to Read in 2012

I'm busy reading as many 2011 publications as possible before January 1, 2012. There is a stack of 2012 titles waiting for me in my basement. I moved them down there to help me focus on 2011. I'm looking around my home office wondering where they will go. Don't worry, I will make room. I always do.

Sometimes managing (prioritizing) a to-read list feels like a full-time job. I'm looking forward to moving Showoff and Chloe and the Lion to the top of the list.

Showoff by Gordan Korman

Publisher Description:

The fourth SWINDLE book, centering around a dog show that goes horribly awry!

The heroes of SWINDLE, ZOOBREAK, and FRAMED are back - and this time, things have gone to the dogs! When Luthor goes berserk at a mall dog show, he's accused of ruining the career of the three-time best-in-show beagle. Griffin always knew that Luthor's viciousness was simmering just below the surface - so why does he feel bad enough to spring him from the pound?

Griffin and his team have a new plan. This one involves New York City, a sinister saboteur, a reclusive dog-trainer who's quit the business, an international dog show, and a whole lot of red dye. But if they pull it off, no one will even notice their sting operation...right?

Publication Date: January 1, 2012

Chloe and the Lion by Mac Barnett and Adam Rex

Publisher Description:

Meet Chloe: Every week, she collects loose change so she can buy tickets to ride the merry-go-round. But one fateful day, she gets lost in the woods on her way home, and a large dragon leaps out from—"Wait! It's supposed to be a lion," says Mac Barnett, the author of this book. But Adam Rex, the illustrator, thinks a dragon would be so much cooler (don't you agree?).

Publication Date: April 3, 2012

  1. Loved Swindle, haven't read the next two yet. And Chloe and the Lion looks awesome - can't wait until April for its release.

  2. I've seen a couple of Gordon's books in the Scholastic book order form, but never bought any even though Framed looked good. Actually, I thought the cover looked "cute"-sorry. :)

I need to add them to my TBR list which seems to be becoming unmanageable-but I keep telling myself it will always give me something to look forward to! :)
