Vote for Mr. Schu and Ms. Kouri's Road Trip Mascot

Spring break is officially over, which means that summer is right around the corner. What does summer mean? Why, it’s time to hit the road with a favorite book character! Everyone does this, right?

Seven years ago we began a summer road trip tradition. 26,716 miles later, this tradition is still going strong. A favorite part of preparing for our trip is choosing the perfect mascot. Students, teachers, librarians, and authors around the world helped us out last year by voting for their favorite character. This mascot accompanies us as we travel around the country and is photographed in many unique venues.

  1. I really wanted to pick Ivan but since he's so dark, he won't show up well in pictures (I have a black dog and it's very hard to take a good picture of him).

I picked Chicken Butt because he will be the most amusing and entertaining in pictures. :)

  2. OMG! All those great choices. I think Ivan deserves a chance to get out in the wild, but then there is Rocket, and Fly Guy, and Pete the Cat. Oh and Lucy - hmmm...will she be able to go with the flow? And Penny, oh dear, how do you pick. Thanks for letting us vote too.

  16. Pete the Cat will make the best road trip companion. He will entertain you along the way with his catchy tunes, and since cats are very intelligent, he will benefit the most from the visiting all the interesting sites on your trip.
