It's Monday! What Are You Reading? 1/7/13

Jen and Kellee host a weekly meme called "What Are You Reading? From Picture Books to YA." It encourages you to share what you read during the previous week and to plan what you're going to read/review during the current week. Thank you, Kellee and Jen, for hosting this fun meme.

My winter break officially ended last night. It will be recorded in the history books (or at least on this blog) as the two weeks during which I only read Newbery Medal-winning books —18 to be exact. I spent most of 2012 feeling behind in the Newbery Challenge, so I greatly enjoyed catching up and spending uninterrupted time with the Logan family, Jess and Leslie, Turtle, Catherine, Wheeze and Caroline, William Blake, the Tillerman family, Leigh, Aerin, Anna and Caleb, Jemmy and Prince Brat, Abraham Lincoln, insects, Annemarie Johansen, Maniac Magee and Amanda, Marty and Shiloh, Summer, and Jonas. Wow, what a cast of memorable and beloved characters!

What did you read during winter break?

Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech

  5. Walk Two Moons is an amazing book! It could be my very favorite book (my students laugh as I say that because I ALWAYS say that). Remember, there's no shame in crying over a good book- let us know how you do at the end!
