  1. Love this post. My 5th grade students will start our Newbery Challenge reading program as well as our Newbery unit (lessons during library) and I am definitely going to include some of these amazing video resources! Thanks so much for all you do to excite children to read!

  2. I've never been to Chicago, but someday I'd like to visit that park. Great videos - I haven't read BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA, but it's going on the pile.

  3. I have used Bridge as a class novel for the last 6 or 7 years. I absolutely love this book with its figurative language and many themes. It is a teacher's dream book. Sadly, this was the first year that I had so many issues with the language used by the father. I even had a parent that forbid his daughter to read it. I finally explained that it was on the state's reading list and once you got past the "profanity", it was a beautiful story. Now I don't know if I will read it next year or not.
