Happy Picture Book Month!
Dear Reader,
Happy Picture Book Month! I LOVE Picture Book Month. No! I REALLY love Picture Book Month. I've been counting down the days until November 1 for eleven months.
During Picture Book Month, my students will...
*read TONS of picture books. (Readers can check out as many picture books as they want.)
*set Picture Book Month reading goals.
*see various Picture Book Month announcements around the library and school, including...
*participate in a Mock Caldecott with Mr. Colby Sharp's students. We will Skype throughout the month and possibly connect via Edmodo.
I hope you have fun celebrating Picture Book Month!
Happy reading!
-Mr. Schu

We are also very proud to be part of your Picture Book Month. Look forward to hearing what your kids like this year.
ReplyDeleteI love picture book month! Granted I'm partial to picture books since I write them but that shouldn't matter. The truth is I think we move our kids away from picture books and into chapter books too soon. The visual along with the words are so important to language development. I still read picture books to my 8yr old even though he is reading chapter books by himself.
