The Nerdy Book Club and I are celebrating the release of Comics Squad: Recess with Jarrett J. Krosoczka and Matthew Holm. 

I wrote the words in orange, and Matthew Holm wrote the words in black. Thank you, Matthew!

The book trailer for Comics Squad: Recess! has a better plot line and directing than the last three Star Wars movies.

Gene Yang, Eric Wight, Ursula Vernon, Dave Roman, Raina Telgemeier, Dan Santat, Dav Pilkey, Jarrett J. Krosoczka, Jennifer Holm, and some spring training will give you an awesome baseball team! Oh, and also, they're joining me for our super-awesome kids cartoon anthology, COMICS SQUAD: RECESS!

I hope Comics Squad: Recess! wins the World Series! Wait, sorry—I'm stuck on that baseball thing. Actually, I hope it introduces tons of new kids to the awesomeness of graphic novels and shows them the work of some cool authors they may not have read before!

When I was a kid my whole life revolved around comics and Star Wars. Things aren't much different now.

Squish: Fear the Amoeba is also celebrating its book birthday today. It is so scary that we are legally not allowed to sell it by itself—you also have to buy a copy of COMICS SQUAD: RECESS! (NOTE: I am not a lawyer.)

Reading is my reason for getting out of bed in the morning! (NOTE: Actually not such a good reason, since reading in bed is also great.)

Graphic novels are always better when consumed in twos or threes. Or fours.

Mr. Schu, you should have asked me about my idea for the plot of Star Wars Episode VII. I don't want to give too much away, but it involves  lightsaber duels, runaway droids, and intelligent alien cupcakes.
