Book Trailer Premiere: Forget Me Not by Ellie Terry
Hello, Ellie Terry! Welcome to Watch. Connect.
Read. Thank you for stopping by to share the FANTASTIC book trailer for Forget Me Not and to finish my
sentences. I greatly appreciate it.
Ellie Terry: Thank you for
having me, Mr. Schu! I enjoy reading your Watch.Connect.Read.
blog very much, so I’m super excited to be here!
And I’m super excited you’re here. Shall we get started?
Ellie Terry: Yes!
Ellie Terry: Yes!
I think the book trailer for Forget Me Not captures the feelings of
the novel quite well. The script, voiceover, music, props, settings, etc. were
all painstakingly chosen by the one and only… me. And in the true style of being
a writer, I made the videographer revise the trailer about a bazillion times.
(The videographer was my very talented younger brother, by the way, so I hope
he still talks to me after this!)
Calliope’s family is a family of two. Just
her and her mother. And that’s the way Calli likes it. Although she misses her
father dearly.
I hope Forget
Me Not inspires readers to embrace whatever it is that makes each of them
different.

Did you know all of the tics and
compulsions that Calliope experiences in the novel are based on my own Tourette
syndrome and OCD? That’s why it was so therapeutic for me to write Calli’s
story. For example, one day I had a painful jaw-popping tic that I kept doing
over and over. With tears streaming down my face, I sat at my computer and
wrote what became the Uninvited Guest
poem on page 188. I may not have been able to stop myself from doing that tic,
but I sure felt better after getting my feelings out on paper!
Mr. Schu, you should have asked me, "Who was
that adorable actress in the book trailer?" Well, she happens to be my oldest daughter, whom
I based Calli’s physical appearance on. She also has Tourette syndrome, so when
I said, “We need some tics!” she knew exactly what to do.
Thank you, again, for hosting the premiere
of the Forget Me Not book trailer,
Mr. Schu!!!
Thank you, Ellie! Congratulations!
